Walden MGA sponsors two men’s groups that play a competitive season against other clubs in the area.  

Both groups are described below:

Invitational Interclub

The Men’s Invitational Interclub play is open to all Walden MGA members that have a 18 index or lower and would like to  participate on Tuesday afternoons starting at 1:00 PM.

Each week eight players compete against other clubs in the area .  The matches are split between locations so that half of the team will host half of the opponents team at Walden and the other half will travel to the opponents home course.

Invitational Interclub uses two points per hole for each two man team match. Low ball against low ball for one point and high ball against high ball for the second point, so each two man team match will have a total of 36 points scored. With four matches per competition, total points awarded each week is 144 points.  Total cumulative points across the season for all matches determines the top team.

The Invitational season starts in March  runs through to the end of  the year.

Senior Interclub

The Men’s Senior Interclub play is for anyone over 5o that has retired from at least one job at  some time. Each week the  Seniors fields twenty players to play matches against other participating  clubs in area.  The matches rotate among the various clubs and all players will play at the same course each week.

Senior Interclub uses best ball approach for two man teams.  For each of the ten matches, one point awarded for each nine and 1 point for

overall match winner.  Therefore 30 points awarded per competition. The team with more than 15 points wins the  competition and is awarded 2 points toward the cumulative annual score.

Seniors have the opportunity to play the courses at Bentwater, Canongate, Elkins Lake, Hearthstone, Kingwood, Northgate, The Village, Raveneaux, River Plantation, Red wolf, Walden on Lake Houston, and The Woodlands for only a cart fee.
